Lazy Writer & WAL

87 views 0 August 30, 2019 admin

LAZY WRITER: AN INTERNAL PROCESS WITHIN SQL SERVER TO ALLOCATE THE MEMORY REQUIRED FOR ACTUAL QUERY EXECUTION. EVERY QUERY IS ALLOCATED 1 MB OF MEMORY BY DEFAULT.

WAL : WRITE AHEAD LOG
A MECHANISM TO ALLOCATE LOG SPACE FOR DATA AUDITS. THEN WRITE DATA TO DATA FILE.
IN CERTAIN CASES, THE DATA IS WRITTEN FROM MEMORY TO DATA FILE. THIS IS POSSIBLE IN CASE OF “BULK OPERATIONS”.
